Did you know you can select the Merit Award Bursary Program when making your United Way donation to help students realize their dreams of higher education?
It’s easy! Select: “Designate to United Way or Other Canadian Charities” Enter the name of the charity: “Merit Award Bursary Program Inc” or our CRA Business Number: 814537882RR0001. Then enter the amount you wish to donate. Let us know about your gift, so we can thank you, too!
Adopt a School
If you want to support a school that is important to you and your community the Merit Adopt-a-School program is unique. It is a partnership with inidviduals, community businesses and associations in the greater Toronto area.

Connect with our recipients and get involved with key events like our June Awards ceremony or our August networking event. Or get involved throughout the year with fundraisers like our annual matching campaign, Bowling for Bursaries, and Wine Raffle.

We have an "Above and Beyond Plan" for growth. We are growing the depth and breadth of the program - adding more schools, more students, and more school boards in Toronto, Peel, Durham, York, Halton and Hamilton.
