Opportunity Road Ride

What is the Opportunity Road Ride?

This is our second Opportunity Road Ride! Last year, Brian Smeenk, Merit's President, was inspired to undertake a 2,300 km solo ride from Halifax back to Toronto. We raised more than $75,000 for Bursaries and had 26 Riders join us for the Ride to welcome him home on Sept.25. This year we want to raise even more money for deserving students in the GTA!  On September 8, mindset CYCLING will again lead the 80 km loop for experienced riders and a 30 km loop, too!  Both start at Victoria Square Park, Markham.

Why Register, raise and ride? Talent is evenly distributed. Opportunity is not. We believe all students should have equal access to post-secondary education. We're raising funds to provide more bursaries and support programs for students in the GTA. This summer, Brian Smeenk is ready to do another solo-ride to raise funds for the Merit Award Bursary Program! This time, he will ride 2,500 km over 25 days around Southern Ontario to raise funds for Merit Award Bursaries for students in the GTA. You can help raise funds too and join him on September 8! Better still, get a team together and help raise even more money for deserving students!
